Kallig's Infirmary and Bath House

Kallig is a healer, and a worshipper of Sheesing the White, Goddess of healing and enlightenment. He runs a bath house, and an infirmary in the South Dock District. His place is clean, and affordable, and is a popular establishment.

Although his goddess is generally thought of as a beacon of good, Kallig ministers to anyone in need of healing. The more unsavory simply pay more for his services. For adventurers of decent reputation, he charges standard prices (see the DMG) for his, or his apprentice's, services. Because he will minister to any one that enters, Kallig's bath house is strictly neutral territory among the criminals of Rastgoth. Since guests must disrobe in order to enter the steam rooms and bath rooms, it has become an ideal place to conduct "business." The lack of concealed weapons, spell components, and the like help enforce neutrality.

Kallig is an 8th level healer, and as such, he leads services to his goddess from the bath house. His sect, the Cult of the Dreamers, worship Sheesing as the goddess of enlightenment, and search for the enlightenment through rigorous meditation bolstered by herbs that can bring on "Visions."

In addition to being a spiritual leader, Kallig takes on apprentices, and provides training for members of his sect, or any cleric who wishes to learn more about the goddess. He has three apprentices, ranging in level from 1st to 5th.

His operation also includes a henchman. A young thief that he rescued from the streets. The thief, called "Slow Poke" by his friends, has become Kallig's only link to the outside world, as the elderly Kallig rarely ventures outside of the bathhouse.

Upper Level

Kallig's apprentices inhabit the dormitory. The newest of the group is responsible for the reception area, where every visitor is greeted, given a clean white towel, and instructed to disrobe in the changing room.

The changing room is usually attended by the senior of the apprentices, who is there to make sure that weapons go no farther.

The steam room and bath area are fairly self-explanatory. Water is heated by adding a glowing stone from a charcoal brazier. Fresh water is created daily, and supplemented by a cistern on the roof.

Lower Level

Kallig's private quarters and the infirmary are contained on the lower level. The only access is from the upper level. There is also a rear entrance from the kitchen. It is kept locked, and guests, even the most important, are discouraged from using it. There are eight cots in the infirmary, and a variety of healing herbs. In addition to their healing skills, each of Kallig's apprentices are skilled in first aid and herbalism.
